About MSP NOW

MSP NOW's mission is to advocate for the holistic needs of women* with a focus on the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, in accordance with the mission of the National Organization for Women.  MSP NOW aims to become the premier Minneapolis/St. Paul-area organization for feminists. We take a “think national, act local” approach to women’s rights and issues. MSP NOW’s purpose is threefold: to build a network of connected feminists, educate members and the public on feminist issues and to take decisive action to promote intersectional feminist ideals in all aspects of social, political, and economic life.
*inclusive of transgender, non-binary and genderqueer individuals.

Our Values

Connection
We believe that we are stronger together than we are apart. Oppression depends on the oppressed remaining small and divided. By focusing on growing our network with both like-minded individuals and organizations, MSP NOW will create a viable, vibrant and sustainable feminist community in the Twin Cities area.

Education
A barrier to entry for many burgeoning feminists can be the terms, the history, and lack of “feminist literacy.” The key to success is the ability to learn, comprehend, and teach the need for gender equality and feminism. MSP NOW is dedicated to not only creating educational opportunities for our members, but also for the community as a whole.

Action
From marching and protesting, fundraising, volunteering (and much more), MSP NOW takes concrete, meaningful action steps to advance the progress for women’s rights.
